It's no secret that I am not a fan of when people don't use their vanity plates wisely. Namely, I hate when people just copy+paste the badge from the trunk lid of whatever it is they drive. If you want to tell people what you drive, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Case in point; I was driving today behind a Cadillac STS-4. I know this, because the badge on the trunk said "STS-4" and the license plate said...wait for it..."STS4". Right.

I...was once guilty of this. Badly.

Confess your sins and be forgiven, my son.
What was it?

I saw a guy driving a fiat yesterday and his license plate was, wait for it.... F1AT

I really want one that says "RDSOFA" or just "SOFA"

It was a Gremlin

Just roll down the window and be like, "Is that the new Beetle?"

![]() 08/05/2014 at 20:51 |

Perhaps just "BODYROL".

Huh?

Formula 1 Automatic Transmission? I can't wait until those automatics trickle down into normal passenger cars.

I've seen a Nissan Maxima with the plate "MAXIMA".
On the other end of the creative scale, I've see a BMW 745i w/ the plate "QTR 2 8"
![]() 08/05/2014 at 20:55 |

I'm embarrassed.

Come on... This is a safe place.
![]() 08/05/2014 at 20:58 |

Look it up. It's all I think about when I see vanity plates.
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:00 |

The ones that kill me out here are the ones that are pompous and arrogant. Like there is this yellow saturn driving around with the plate "NVME". I have also seen a few deserved and blessed plates, usually on 10 year old models from mid range makers, like a BMW thats now worth $15,000 telling me to be envious of them...
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:00 |

It was a distinctive car. I'm worried some of you Oppos saw me and were like "What a prick!" and now you will know it was me :(
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:01 |

Facepalm to the Maxima.
That BMW is damn clever, actually.
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:02 |
|
Don't be.
If it's a rare/cool car that people might ask about, it's okay. For example, there's a '59 Eldorado around town here that says "59 ELDO".
Even if it isn't, I promise not to hurt you too much. Now go on, you'll feel better if you talk about it.

Sienfeld. Love it!

:(
In retrospect, it was really tacky. I no longer drive a GTR with plate "GTR".
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:11 |
|
There's a Lincoln Navigator around town with plates that say "PROFIT".
Not enough profit to afford a Range Rover, eh?
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:13 |
|
...I'm sure you are aware that we can't read the plate in that picture.
And yeah, every GTR in my town has some GTR-related vanity plate:
Still, this one is more clever than "GTR" *snickers*.

I didn't want to reveal the state. Idk man the internet scares me. Just believe me, why would I lie about my tacky ass plate on a showy ass car lol YOU MADE ME TRUST YOU
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:17 |

I know a guy who runs his MR200 plate on every car he has, currently on a Nissan Exa he fixed up to flip. He keeps trying to sell them so I can put them on my MR2 but I don't want them.
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:19 |

I think it's basically a law that a GTR has some reference to itself with the plate. If you didn't then other GTR owners probably would have attacked you.
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:20 |

Fair enough. Most were like "why didn't I think of that" to which I was like "idk, cuz you're stupid?"
![]() 08/05/2014 at 21:25 |

It's okay, I'm not gonna kill you, like I said. But it's well-recorded on here were many of us are.

I kinda feel goofy with my plate set up...I have regular plates but my car came with Euro plates (Austria) that says "1990 964"...I switched my front plate to a Slovenia Euro Plate...my family is really close and everyone puts the "SLO" sticker on the back of their car (That is the round circle for country designation in the EU)...we live in Ohio BTW so it is a little silly but My Grandpa and uncles did it so I always thought it was kinda cool

So would you consider the nickname that contains part of the model (coined by some friends and rightfully stuck) of my vehicle on a personal plate wrong? Even if it's on the worst plate in the U.S. (for multiple reasons)?
That also contains a lie.
![]() 08/05/2014 at 22:02 |
|
Not at all. It's only if it contains the make/model, and nothing else, written out the old-fashioned way. Why? What's yours?
![]() 08/05/2014 at 22:06 |

None yet because I have temp tags, but SLWRNNR, or SLOW RUNNER. It got that name as I was going over a hill and by the top of the hill I went from 55 to 35 mph, my friend called it the slow runner and it stuck. It's a 4Runner, to further elaborate.

I gathered as much from your avatar. Then again, if we are assuming people drive the car in their avatar...

Why, do you not drive a Duesy?
![]() 08/05/2014 at 22:13 |

I liked the Ford pickup I saw: F1FIDDY
![]() 08/05/2014 at 22:25 |

No, no I totally drive a duesy. As far as you know.

Saw one with MAXIMA yesterday. You paid extra for that?
![]() 08/06/2014 at 11:23 |

GOJIRA would be better.
![]() 08/06/2014 at 11:25 |

Wait. I just say that plate yesterday (in OK).
![]() 08/06/2014 at 11:28 |

Not sure if I'd ever get a personalized plate, but that hasn't stopped me from thinking of some.
For my German super-sedan, I thought BHNBRNR would be good - mash up of autobahn and barn-burner.
![]() 08/06/2014 at 11:42 |

You're the second person to see that one. Same car?
![]() 08/06/2014 at 12:20 |

Not sure if he's in Oklahoma - haven't heard back yet.
I mean, it's so original, there's no way two different people in two entirely different states would have the same one, right?
